Robert “Woody” Priest
Hometown: Darien, CT
Woody grew up in Burr, getting his start on Saturday mornings as early as 5 years – old holding “the boring end” of the tape measure for his father Bob Priest to aid in measuring roofs. Throughout his childhood Woody would ride along with various team members: setting up and cleaning up job sites, loading dumpsters, working in the shop, and even pioneering a new lead generation program on days off from school. After majoring in Economics & Finance at Eckerd College Woody joined the family business full time, initially as an estimator, gradually taking on more responsibility, and ultimately buying the business from his father at the end of 2013.
Today, Woody does all the estimating and project design with the help of Hadley and Paisley, his four-legged sidekicks. Hadley, a Portuguese Water Dog, and Paisley, a Chocolate Lab, share the title of “Directors of Employee Morale,” and can always be found close by Woody’s side. They run all appointments, riding in the truck, picking up treats at the lumber yards, occasionally even from homeowners, while lounging around the office between appointments. Beyond Burr, Woody and his wife Taylor can usually be found on some adventure, usually centered around their other true passions, improving their own home, their dogs, and boating.
Since taking over the reins Woody has led the business in a slightly new direction, following his passion for architectural design and dramatic exterior makeovers. Burr‘s new slogan “Life Improving Home Improvement” reflects the same commitment to excellence that Woody’s Father instilled, but clarifies the objective of enriching the lives of both our Clients and Team Members through custom exterior remodeling. Our commitment to our Clients is to create a custom exterior that is stunningly beautiful, relatively low maintenance, and a fiscally sound investment in the home’s value. Our commitment to our Team Members is to create a meaningful lifelong career based on craftsmanship, pride, and integrity.
