Siding Replacement in Newtown, CT
Challenge: When Burr first arrived at this house in Newtown, CT the existing wood clapboard siding was peeling very badly. It appeared to have be unprimed when first installed, making it difficult for the paint to truly adhere to the board. The existing window sills were also peeling paint in many areas due to moisture and weathering effects. Burr Roofing, Siding, & Windows recommended that the sills and trim pieces be wrapped with white aluminum for a maintenance free exterior and protection from the elements. To fix the damaged fascia and rake boards Burr suggested wrapping the fascia with white aluminum and installing a vented vinyl soffit panel.
Solution: Ultimately, we installed 6″ exposure HardiePlank fiber cement siding in Evening Blue, paired with Arctic White HardieTrim. Now, this homeowner does not need to worry about peeling paint and moisture threatening the structural integrity of the home, not to mention it looks fantastic!
